Always expect the unexpected

I had a shock this morning when I found out that someone I know had died of cancer. We weren't close friends, but we chatted on Facebook. We'd become friends years ago when we were both part of a twitter conversation about older music fans. Even though we weren't close it's still a shock when someone your own age is no longer here. It got me thinking about how we never know what's going to happen. We can make all the plans in the world but there's never 100% guarantee that those plans will be carried out. We always need to be prepared for something else to happen. And not always in a bad way. Sometimes it's something awesome that happens instead of what we were expecting. So we should always be hopeful (remind me to come back and read this when I'm feeling like nothing good ever happens). I have a tendency to be pessimistic, and sometimes that's with good reason. But it's not much fun going through life always expecting the worst to happen, s...

Weigh in day. The moment of truth

Well it's not as much as I'd hoped for but it's a loss, so that's good :) Don't my ankles look horrendous in this photo? It's been a mixed kind of week. Good bits and bad bits. But I've managed to stick to my diet which makes me happy, because I'm an emotional/comfort eater. I'm generally quite a negative person when it comes to dieting, especially because it's going to take a long time to lose all my weight, but I read a quote recently that said this : And this is so true. The time will pass anyway, so I might as well just get on with things, not wait and moan and complain that it will take too long.  I'm going to share some songs with you that make me smile and feel happy every time I listen to them :) B.A.P-Baby   https://youtu.be/p4d2FgmhHrY ASTRO-Hide and Seek https://youtu.be/jT1zdCZnEww Super Junior-Swing   https://youtu.be/B5m3l65Lp0I Tomorrow I'll share my 'get me out of bed when I don't want to ...

I'm still here

Nothing much was really happening for the past few days so I wasn't sure what to write. I'm feeling frustrated with my weight loss. I used to lose lots in the first week, but this time it's very slow. I suspect it's partly medication I take for my blood pressure and partly because I'm not drinking enough water. I'm a bit of a coffee addict you see. I know, I know...it's bad to drink too much. I'll try and cut down. I've been thinking lately about the charity I am raising money for. At first it doesn't seem like much...one meal a day. But without that one meal many children would starve. I have children myself. I can't bear to think of them going hungry for half a day let alone a whole day or longer. How helpless must those mothers feel when they can't feed their children? It makes me want to cry thinking about it. And that's why I am doing this. Because with your help I can feed 30 children for an entire year. Just knowing that th...

A sad day

So today I found out that one of my Kpop groups disbanded suddenly. There were no hints, no warnings. (I'll always remember you, History!) It got me thinking about how we never know what's going to happen in life. We should take the opportunity to experience things, visit places, see people, yes even go to concerts...because you never know when it might be too late. Forget being scared, or shy, or nervous, or unsure, and just go for it! Take that course you've always dreamed about. Visit the country you always wanted to see. Don't let your fear hold you back. My usual response to something upsetting would be to eat. Chocolate, crisps, anything. Today I couldn't do any of this because I'm dieting. Being on a sponsored slim helped a little. I didn't want to cheat so early into this challenge. I didn't want to let anyone down. And then I wondered why I would have been quite happy to let myself down...I came to the conclusion that I don't value myse...

Ready, set, go!!

The dreaded starting stats and photos. I'm really nervous about posting these, simply because I have so much weight to lose. I'm going to be doing a meal replacement diet called Exante. I've actually done it before and lost 46 KG but i gained it all back when I was pregnant. There will be no more babies for me, so this time I want to lose it and keep it off! So, I'll stop procrastinating and ....(takes a deep breath) Start weight 150.3KG Height 1.69m Ideal weight 65KG And because I want to post progress pics, I have to start with the horrible pics at the beginning of this journey. Dreadful aren't they? To make it better here's a photo of the man who has inspired me to do this :)  (photo not mine, credit to owner)

One of those introduction pages :)

I'm a 46 year old mother of 6 and I love K-pop.... What does this have to do with my blog title you may ask? Recently, I started liking a K-pop group called B.A.P. 2 days ago, I found out that the leader of this group is heavily involved with charity work and donating, and that he encourages his fans to do the same. This is the video that inspired me to do something to help others.  https://youtu.be/ZzNd6KVS4yk So I'm taking up the challenge! Now, I can't do conventional exciting events such as running a marathon or climbing a mountain, because I have fibromyalgia, which limits what I can do. But there is something I  can  do, which will not only benefit starving children but also myself. I have decided to do a sponsored slim. I have a lot of weight to lose...over half my body weight needs to go and I want to lose it in a year. It only costs £13.90 to feed a child for a year, so even if you can only sponsor me £1, it will soon add up. I'm going to ...
