A sad day

So today I found out that one of my Kpop groups disbanded suddenly. There were no hints, no warnings. (I'll always remember you, History!)
It got me thinking about how we never know what's going to happen in life. We should take the opportunity to experience things, visit places, see people, yes even go to concerts...because you never know when it might be too late. Forget being scared, or shy, or nervous, or unsure, and just go for it! Take that course you've always dreamed about. Visit the country you always wanted to see. Don't let your fear hold you back.
My usual response to something upsetting would be to eat. Chocolate, crisps, anything. Today I couldn't do any of this because I'm dieting. Being on a sponsored slim helped a little. I didn't want to cheat so early into this challenge. I didn't want to let anyone down. And then I wondered why I would have been quite happy to let myself down...I came to the conclusion that I don't value myself and that's quite sad when you think about it. I'm not sure what to do about that yet. Maybe a first step is to just accept myself?

Ready, set, go!!

The dreaded starting stats and photos. I'm really nervous about posting these, simply because I have so much weight to lose. I'm going to be doing a meal replacement diet called Exante. I've actually done it before and lost 46 KG but i gained it all back when I was pregnant. There will be no more babies for me, so this time I want to lose it and keep it off! So, I'll stop procrastinating and ....(takes a deep breath) Start weight 150.3KG Height 1.69m Ideal weight 65KG And because I want to post progress pics, I have to start with the horrible pics at the beginning of this journey. Dreadful aren't they? To make it better here's a photo of the man who has inspired me to do this :)  (photo not mine, credit to owner)

Always expect the unexpected

I had a shock this morning when I found out that someone I know had died of cancer. We weren't close friends, but we chatted on Facebook. We'd become friends years ago when we were both part of a twitter conversation about older music fans. Even though we weren't close it's still a shock when someone your own age is no longer here. It got me thinking about how we never know what's going to happen. We can make all the plans in the world but there's never 100% guarantee that those plans will be carried out. We always need to be prepared for something else to happen. And not always in a bad way. Sometimes it's something awesome that happens instead of what we were expecting. So we should always be hopeful (remind me to come back and read this when I'm feeling like nothing good ever happens). I have a tendency to be pessimistic, and sometimes that's with good reason. But it's not much fun going through life always expecting the worst to happen, s...

Weigh in day. The moment of truth

Well it's not as much as I'd hoped for but it's a loss, so that's good :) Don't my ankles look horrendous in this photo? It's been a mixed kind of week. Good bits and bad bits. But I've managed to stick to my diet which makes me happy, because I'm an emotional/comfort eater. I'm generally quite a negative person when it comes to dieting, especially because it's going to take a long time to lose all my weight, but I read a quote recently that said this : And this is so true. The time will pass anyway, so I might as well just get on with things, not wait and moan and complain that it will take too long.  I'm going to share some songs with you that make me smile and feel happy every time I listen to them :) B.A.P-Baby   https://youtu.be/p4d2FgmhHrY ASTRO-Hide and Seek https://youtu.be/jT1zdCZnEww Super Junior-Swing   https://youtu.be/B5m3l65Lp0I Tomorrow I'll share my 'get me out of bed when I don't want to ...
