I had a shock this morning when I found out that someone I know had died of cancer. We weren't close friends, but we chatted on Facebook. We'd become friends years ago when we were both part of a twitter conversation about older music fans. Even though we weren't close it's still a shock when someone your own age is no longer here. It got me thinking about how we never know what's going to happen. We can make all the plans in the world but there's never 100% guarantee that those plans will be carried out. We always need to be prepared for something else to happen. And not always in a bad way. Sometimes it's something awesome that happens instead of what we were expecting. So we should always be hopeful (remind me to come back and read this when I'm feeling like nothing good ever happens). I have a tendency to be pessimistic, and sometimes that's with good reason.
